Welcome to Flame WranglerI have been making Lampwork Glass Beads since 1997. My
interest in bead making has taken me around the country and twice to
Venice and the Island of Murano. I use only Morretti Glass in my bead
making. This is a fine glass made on the Island of Murano using the
centuries old method of the ancient Italian Craftsmen. I teach at the
University of Oregon, Eugene campus. We are expanding the classes to
include continuing glass bead making. I wholesale to Boutiques and other
stores with a wide variety of Necklaces, Bracelets, Earrings. By making
of the individual beads with an end product in mind, such as a necklace,
I can create each bead as an intrigal part of a whole. Some of my stone
wear has the look of ancient minerals mined out of the deep earth.
Forming and molding each bead as a compliment to the entire piece keeps
my creative process always searching for a new turn, a different twist.
I can have a ball making a bunch of little veggies turn them into a one
of a kind necklace. Sometimes it's just fun to melt, mold, swirl and
whatever just to see what turns up. I hope some day soon to be able to
give small classes at a private shop. These would be fun, creative
classes with maybe four to six people. Check back every now and then to
see what's up! Click on the picture for a short movie on the birth of a bead. |
